The end is nigh as a deadly plague sweeps the nation and widespread panic overcomes the dying masses of America in a terrifying and inexorable tide. Who will be left to rebuild on the ruins of their past lives as the ancient rivalry of Good versus Evil has only just begun? Based on the popular apocalyptic novel by celebrated author Stephen King, The Stand brings together critically acclaimed writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Secret Invasion: Fantastic Four, Sensational spider-Man, Angel: Revelations, HBO's Big Love) and the gritty visuals of artist Mike Perkins (Captain America) to tell a tale that begins at the end of the world. -- The Stand: Captain Trips #1 - CBR | 32 Pages | 17.8 MB It begins here: the apocalyptic epic battle between good and evil based on the classic bestseller by master of horror Stephen King! On a secret army base in the Californian desert, something has gone horribly, terribly wrong. Something that will send Charlie Campion and his wife and daughter fleeing in the middle of the night. Unfortunately for the Campion family--and the rest of America--they are unaware that all three of them are carrying a deadly cargo: A virus that will spread from person to person like wildfire, triggering a massive wave of disease and death, prefacing humanity's last stand! The Stand: Captain Trips #2 - CBR | 32 Pages | 25.9 MB Stephen King's horror epic continues in this issue as the unseen killer, the super-flu Captain Trips, spreads across the entire country, a tide of disease and death. Meanwhile, in Atlanta, in the Center for Disease Control, the US government has taken a keen interest in Stuart Redman, who seems to be the only person immune to the Captain Trips infection. They are determined to find out why--with or without Stu's cooperation. And what do the recurring nightmares Stu's been having--about a dark man with red eyes standing in a cornfield--mean? Plus: Frannie Goldsmith and her father! Larry Underwood in New York! And Nick Andros takes a wrong turn in Shoyo, Arkansas! The Stand: Captain Trips #3 - CBR | 35 Pages | 30.5 MB Ever-evolving and ever-deadly, the superflu "Captain Trips" continues to spread across the country, affecting even such far-flung lost souls as Larry Underwood in New York and Frannie Goldsmith in Maine. As rumors about chemical warfare and bubonic plague start seeping into the media, the actions of the American government begin to devolve, legal systems local and global start to break down, and two reckless outlaws--Lloyd Henreid and Poke Freeman--decide to take advantage of the situation, cutting a path of destruction through the American southwest. It's murder and mayhem, Stephen King-style, in the third chapter of this epic struggle between good and evil! The Stand: Captain Trips #4 - CBZ | 33 Pages | 15.2 MB The first volume of Marvel's adaptation of the Stephen King horror epic draws to its conclusion! For Larry Underwood, Nick Andros, and Frannie Goldsmith, the deadly superflu has immediate--and devastating--consequences, striking down people near and dear to their hearts. Meanwhile, outlaw Lloyd Henreid gets some grim news from his attorney and General Starkey is relieved of his duties--in the most definitive way possible. And somewhere far away, but getting closer, the Walkin' Dude is making his presence known... The Stand: Captain Trips #5 - CBR | 35 Pages | 29.1 MB The violently contagious superflu Captain Trips has now encompassed the entire country in its deadly embrace and there’s no turning back. America is rapidly becoming a country of the sick...the dead...the damned. Against that ever-darkening backdrop, Randall Flagg, the Walking Dude, the Dark Man, at long last saunters into this, the climactic chapter of the first volume of Marvel's acclaimed adaptation of Stephen King's horror classic. Abandon hope all ye who enter here... -- marvel.com ____________________________________ Only a few survivors have managed to escape the apocalyptic wave of death known as Captain Trips. Now, the highly anticipated second arc of their brutal struggle for survival, continuing Marvel's adaption of Stephen King's seminal novel, begins in THE STAND: AMERICAN NIGHTMARES. The superstar creative team of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Mike Perkins and Laura Martin, who brought you one of the most critically-acclaimed series of last year, THE STAND: CAPTAIN TRIPS, reunites to deliver a shocking tale of despair and destruction unlike any other before! The few, brave survivors must adapt to a reality they never thought possible. -- The Stand: American Nightmares #1 - CBR | 38 Pages | 13.8 MB The second arc begins! The deadly super flu Captain Trips has devastated the country and now the few survivors must pick up the pieces and go on. Larry Underwood seeks escape from New York City. Lloyd contemplates an extremely unsavory dinner option in jail, and Stu Redman makes a desperate bid for freedom from his interrogators. Most ominous of all, the stange being called Randall Flagg continues his dread journey across the devastated landscape of America. You must not miss it! The Stand: American Nightmares #2 - CBZ | 36 Pages | 25.8 MB The dead are still dead and the living are still finding their way through this horribly altered landscape of America. Thus, it’s a perfect time to—bring on the bad guys! Randall Flagg performs his first act of magic and begins his cross country journey in a souped-up Buick. And then, there’s the strangest addition to the cast yet...Donald Merwin Elbert, the Trashcan Man, a pyromaniac who suddenly has no one to curb his unhealthy obsession with blowing things up. All this plus Rita suggests to Larry Underwood that they should start making their way out of New York, perhaps via...the Lincoln Tunnel! And you know what that means. The Stand: American Nightmares #3 - CBR | 38 Pages | 15.3 MB The most harrowing chapter of Stephen King's horror epic yet! When Larry Underwood and his new companion Rita Blakemoor decide to escape from New York, they head for the Lincoln Tunnel...little knowing that they are embarking on a nightmare journey that will unleash their deepest, darkest fears and demons, both real and imagined. Meanwhile, Harold and Frannie set off on their own great adventure--on mopeds!--and Stu Redman meets another survivor. But is he friend or foe? The Stand: American Nightmares #4 - CBR | 37 Pages | 25.6 MB The penultimate chapter of the second volume based on Stephen King's horror epic! The survivors of the Captain Trips plague have started to team-up. Stu Redman and Glen Bateman trade origin stories--and horror stories about their mutual nightmares--while Randall Flagg sets out to recruit his first soldier in the ultimate battle between Good and Evil: Lloyd Henreid. But will the starving madman accept the dark man's offer? And either way, will he or his soul survive? The Stand: American Nightmares #5 - CBR | 37 Pages | 27.7 MB It's the Fourth of July, the first holiday post-plague, but none of the survivors are celebrating. While Nick Andros hovers between life and death--and between the influence of Randall Flagg and Mother Abigail--Larry Underwood makes a shocking discovery in his tent... And Stu Redmond's path intersects with Harold and Frannie's, but immediately a conflict (that will have enormous ramifications for all our players) immediately erupts among the three. The second mini-series adapting Stephen King's horror epic ends here, True Believers, setting stage for Volume Three: "Soul Survivors." --
